The government has officially removed Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman and appointed Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad as a new chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee on Wednesday, December 30, 2022.
Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman was chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal committee, also a professor at Jinnah University for Women, Member of National Academic Council of Institue of Policy Studies, head of Shariah board of Burj Bank, and president of Tanzeem-ul-Madaris and Dar-ul-Uloom Karachi.

According to a recent notification issued by the federal government, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad will now head the RHC committee in replacement of Mufti Muneeb-Ur-Rehman.
