Islamabad: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar stated that the government maintains excellent relations with the army.
In a conversation with foreign media, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar said that the army and the government are collaborating on economic recovery. “The government has excellent relations with the military,” he added.
The Caretaker Prime Minister announced that Saudi Arabia and the Middle East will invest $25.25 billion in Pakistan over the next five years. Specifically, Saudi Arabia will invest $25 billion in sectors such as mining, agriculture, and information technology. This investment aims to boost foreign direct investment in the country. “The Middle East will also contribute $25 billion during this period,” he said.
Anwarul Haq Kakar revealed plans to privatize two or more electricity distribution companies immediately. “Reforms are needed in the electricity and taxation sectors. The government will lay the groundwork for mid-term reforms,” he noted.
He assured that all political parties registered with the Election Commission will have equal opportunities to participate in the upcoming general elections without bias. “However, some political parties exhibit pro-violent behavior, and they will be dealt with according to the law,” he warned. According to Kakar, the interim government’s mandate is to facilitate the early conduct of elections as prescribed by law. “Constituencies are mandated by the constitution to be determined after the census,” he concluded.
